Spring has still not yet sprung but there are sure signs of it about us. The song birds have returned, the buds on the trees are showing signs of blooming soon, and it has not been below zero for about a month. The most important sign is right outside my front door. If you are PCS’ing to the Minot Air Force Base you can find a ton of information on my website by navigating through the site. You will find information on schools, employers (for your spouse), Arts and other activities. I know you can spend your whole deployment on the base but you will be much happier getting out into the community. A good percentage of Minot’s population is retired military who found North Dakota to be the best place on earth to raise their families. Minot/Minot AFB Heat Wave

For those of you who read my blog a couple of days ago about it being 30 degrees below zereo I felt it only fair to let you know that yesterday, 2/22/2008, it was 60 degrees warmer! Today it is supposed to reach 35 and tomorrow in the 40’s. Break out the shorts, fire up the grill, and tunnel to the lawn mower, spring is comming! Who is Minot and the MAFB?

The Minot ND area is about as diverse a population as North Dakota gets. Having said that we are about 90% White European. The Minot Air Force Base (MAFB) brings us some wonderful diversity and I’m glad to say that a surprising number of those who serve or have served at the base end up retiring here in Minot.
